How to Find Your IP Address on Android
Find Your IP Address on Android
Every Android phone has a private IP on your local network and a public IP visible to the internet. Here is how to find both.
Method 1: Find Your Public IP Instantly
Open Chrome or any browser and visit HackMyIP.com. Your public IP address is displayed at the top, along with your city, ISP, and whether you are using a VPN.
Method 2: Find Your Private IP in Settings
Method 3: Quick Settings Shortcut
On many Android phones, long-press the Wi-Fi tile in Quick Settings to jump directly to your network details, including your IP address.
Cellular vs Wi-Fi IP
When using mobile data, your carrier assigns a different IP address (often shared via CGNAT). Your IP changes when you switch between Wi-Fi and cellular. This is normal and happens automatically.
Protecting Your Android IP
Android 12+ includes Private DNS settings (Settings > Network > Private DNS) for encrypted DNS queries. For full IP privacy, use a VPN. Check if your VPN is working with our 5 VPN tests.
